London is always a great destination. My sister and my boyfriend accompanied me the last time. I’ve been in London before but never at the ME London Hotel, so it came as a pleasant surprise that this is such a sleek and modern place – not at all like some of those stuffy traditional hotels you can find in the capital.

As soon as we entered the reception area, we were greeted by an abundance of marble, combined with stunning light effects in the huge cathedral style atrium – 9 storeys high! The ME Hotel has been around for 4 years only, so everything is still fresh and sparkling new. The interior is very minimalistic and mainly kept in whites, greys and browns. This gives a great sense of unity and has quite a calming effect. Just perfect for recharging your batteries after a long business day!

During our stay we stayed at a large suite on the 8th floor with a splendid view across the River Thames, the London Eye, Big Ben and London Bridge – just the place to relax on the vast double bed or the comfy sofa in front of the flat-screen TV. The ME London also offers a duplex suite on the ninth and tenth floor of the hotel, sporting almost 100 square metres of space and unforgettable views from its private terrace.

We arrived just in time for Happy Hour, so we swiftly headed towards the Radio Rooftop Bar. We were greeted by stunning views across London and a fantastic rooftop area decked with a range of contemporary furnishings, ornamental plants and flickering candles. We truly felt on top of the world up there, and the cocktails were great! Feeling a bit shattered after the journey, we opted to stay at the ME Hotel instead of eating out. A tapas starter at the rooftop bar was just the ticket to get us started. Then we headed for the STK steak restaurant where you sit in cosy round seating areas, the room lit by atmospheric lightning.

The ME Hotel is great for discovering London because of its central location. It’s basically close to everything, from theatre to museum or river cruise, and if you don’t want to lose your usual fitness level, just top up your muscles in the in-house gym. All in all, I loved the ME Hotel in London. It’s the perfect place to be for couples, families and friends as well as business people – especially if they love the pared-down minimalist style.
