The Louis Vuitton SS16 Runway Show ‚Frontiers of the digital Era‘ took place during Paris Fashion Week in October 2015. I must admit, that Nicolas Ghesquiére did a really great job again! Hand-painted leathers were paired with overdyed silks. Fabrics had been made dazzling by the atelier:“gel induction” decorated a silk pastel playsuit like bleeps on a video game; poplin cotton skirts had been bubbled into life. Everything inspired by the film director Wong Kar-wai’s 2046, the Japanese manga artist Evangelion, and the style of the actress Doona Bae. Especially the lines between masculine and feminine are really significant of the whole Collection. During the Louis Vuitton SS16 Press Day that took place in Munich recently, I was able getting a closer look into Nicolas Gesquiére’s Creation. It’s always good feeling the materials, getting a different perspective of view of the presenting pieces and trying to understand what the designer tried to say. Personally I was super amazed by the Accessories. It started with the Jewelry, Bags, Shoes till the Material Highlights that are sticked on some items.
